With spring comes the change of wardrobe, the clothes become lighter and the colors brighter and more fun. The tones typical of autumn/winter, among which are the darkest range of greens, blues and browns, lose strength against vibrant colors and pastel tones.
The catwalk has dictated its preferences for this season and has defined a Pantone in which five colors, in various shades, are the ones that are going to be worn this spring: pink, green, blue, yellow and orange.
Some come back in their most saturated hue and others in their most muted range so you can wear them in a total look, combined with each other or with neutral tones that are always on trend.
The pink color is one of the classics of all springs and this year you will see it mainly in two shades: fuchsia pink and pastel pink.
Firms such as Valentino, Versace or Boss have opted for the brightest version of the color pink, which in most cases goes up the catwalk in a total look because the secret to wearing it this season is to make it the absolute protagonist. If you are going to combine it with other colors, avoid overriding it with vibrant shades since it is better enhanced by colors such as white or pastel pink.
The duller version of pink is another of the clear trends this spring. On the catwalk, legendary brands such as Chanel, Prada or Chloé have defended it. In the same way that with fuchsia you can wear it in a total look, although it can be too candid, so betting on strong colors such as black, brown or red is undoubtedly a success.
Green also arrives this spring in two antagonistic shades: in its brightest range and in a mint tone.
Green is one of the stars of spring for Elie Saab, Victoria Beckham or Molly Goddard for the freshness it gives off and for conveying the optimism of nature. Green is not an easy color and it is usually given a certain respect because if you do not find the right tone it can dull the skin of the face. The solution is to wear any other that favors you in the range of reds or blues close to the face.
But green does not end in the brightest shade of Pantone, shades of green such as aquamarine, pistachio, moss green, laurel and especially mint green will also be protagonists this spring, one of the great bets of the catwalk that have defended, among others, firms such as Armani, Max Mara and Ulla Johnson. This shade of green has an amazing ability to glow when paired with light colors and fade to darker ones.
The most luminous yellow will also be the protagonist in the streets this spring, according to the proposals of Etro, Altuzarra or Kenzo. Typically summery and especially refreshing, intense yellow is one of those colors that you want to wear when the heat arrives. In addition to its optimism, as this tone suits tanned skin especially well, the ideal is to reserve it for later spring, when you have taken on a bit of tan.
Orange, a traditional summer color and this season returns in its brightest version according to Burberry, Gabriela Hearst and Sportmax. It is a very energetic hue that you can make stand out by combining it with light tones such as white, mute it with neutral tones such as tan and make it shine if you add it to other saturated colors such as the range of reds and pinks. As with yellow, it is best to save it for when the skin is a little tanned.
Sky blue is another of the catwalk proposals for this spring, although firms are committed to integrating it into unconventional patterns to prevent it from becoming too candid. Brands like Acne Studio, Bottega Veneta or Fendi suggest wearing it as a total look or mixing it with other trendy shades in its brightest shade, like orange.
