Easyjet's ‘app’ includes a new function to measure suitcases

Equipment policies usually cause more than one headache to passengers. To facilitate the measurement of suitcases, the Easyjet airline has included a function in its application, based on 3D technology, which indicates whether the luggage size is adequate.

This function, which has been developed jointly with the British technology company Travelport, allows passengers to scan their bags at home to ensure, before moving to the airport, that they have the size allowed by the company.

Users must photograph their luggage with the application.A posteriori, they must introduce the suitcase in a 3D box (which has the maximum dimensions stipulated by the company) that appears on the screen. If the suitcase fits in that box, it will mean that it meets Easyjet's policy.

The airline claims to be the first in the United Kingdom to offer this type of technology (Arkit 2 of Apple), which is currently only available on iPhone 6s onwards.Precisely, the new application function is only available, for the moment, for iOS devices.
