1. Coarse salt and milk

If you want to keep shoes clean and prevent the soles from turning yellow, or make them look white and shiny again, you just have to prepare the following remedy. Pour a liter of milk and half a liter of water in a basin. Then, add half a cup of coarse salt and a little soap to get a bleaching solution.

When you've stirred well and get a homogeneous mixture, submerge the shoes and leave them like that for about 3 hours. Finally, scrub with a brush, rinse them very well with soap and water and let them air dry.

2. Soap and coarse salt

We know that coarse salt has multiple uses for cleaning the home. One of them consists of bleaching beach soles, since its properties help to remove accumulated dirt. They can also help bring out the white color when it starts to fade.

To do this, first use a dry cleaning brush to remove dirt from the shoes. Do it both outside and inside, so rub a handful of coarse salt on the inside and outside of your shoes.

Let it act for about an hour and, after this time, rinse the shoes with plenty of cold water and your usual hand washing detergent. Then, remove the laces and insoles and soak them in a basin of soapy water. Finally, let everything dry in the sun.

3. White toothpaste

This remedy is ideal for keeping shoes clean, as well as the white rubber of the sole. And to use this method you only need white toothpaste, an unused toothbrush and a damp cloth.

When you have everything ready, moisten the brush slightly with a little water, add the toothpaste generously and rub with special emphasis on the areas you want to whiten. Little by little, a foam will be created that will impregnate all the dirt, so let it act for a few seconds and then remove it with a damp cloth.

4. White Vinegar and Baking Soda

Another of the most effective homemade tricks to clean the sole is vinegar with baking soda, as both are great whiteners and clean surfaces thoroughly. Therefore, this mixture is ideal for whitening beach soles.

In addition, this combination is antibacterial and will help fight fungi and bacteria, which cause the bad smell that is generated in the feet. To do this, you need a cleaning brush, six tablespoons of baking soda, and a cup of white vinegar.

To keep shoes clean and remove any yellowing that may have acquired over time, mix the baking soda with the vinegar in a container and wait a few minutes until the foam that has formed subsides. So, wet the brush with this mixture and rub the shoes vigorously. Let it act for about 30 minutes before rinsing with plenty of water.

5. Ammonia

To whiten beach soles successfully, you can also use ammonia, so they will shine again like the first day. This product is widely used for cleaning the home, as it is an excellent remedy for dissolving stains without damaging fabrics or surfaces.

If you want to keep shoes clean, you can combine the ammonia with a little bit of dish soap and water for a perfect result. You only need two liters of water, a brush, a teaspoon of ammonia, a tablespoon of baking soda and another of dishwasher.

First, remove dust and dirt from both the outside and inside of the shoes with the brush. Next, pour two liters of warm water into a container, dilute the ammonia in it and add the dishwasher. Soak the shoes in this mixture for an hour and then rinse. If stains remain, rub them with baking soda and put the shoe in the sun.
