How to clean your suede shoes at home without leaving a trace of dirt or stains

Shoes, being in constant contact with the street, get dirty easily. That is why, sometimes, cleaning them can become a tedious task and, above all, complicated when it comes to achieving good results. It may be that we invest hours trying to remove that dirt and it does not disappear. This usually happens, on most occasions, with shoes that are not made of a very common fabric, such as suede. At Divinity we tell you some tricks to leave them spotless.

1. Bristle brush

The brush will have to have soft bristles.divinity.es

To clean these types of shoes it will be important that you get a soft bristle brush or a toothbrush. In this way, the dust will be removed and, also, other residues that have stuck to the shoes. In addition, it will be necessary to always brush in the same direction so that the shoe is not damaged.

2. Micellar water

Another option will be to use micellar water. It may be that you have never thought of using this product for anything other than cleaning your face, moisturizing it, or removing makeup. But the truth is that its formula with micelles will be perfect for cleaning shoes. To do this, you must use a cotton pad and it must be moistened with a product and rub gently. Also, as with the bristle brush, it will have to be done in the same direction.

Another alternative would be to use an eraser. This product can make the most superficial stains on the shoe disappear. To do this, you must pass the rubber through the shoe and also a soft bristle brush to remove any remains that may be left behind.

4. Suede

Yes, it is true that it is very important to take into account the type of material of the shoes since their cleanliness will depend on this. Also, for suede, a chamois used together with a soft bristle brush will be very effective. This combination will make the dirt disappear and, above all, the natural color of the fabric will return.

Also, you can use a chamois and a little water with white wine.divinity.es

5. Water and white vinegar

In the event that there are deeper stains, you can choose to use a damp cloth soaked in water with white vinegar. First, the stain must be dried with absorbent paper and allowed to dry before cleaning the stains. Then, a silicone-based protective spray will have to be applied to protect and waterproof them. In addition, special care must be taken on those humid and rainy days, since they are not good for suede.
